After Nancy confronted her husband about his secret fetish, she was feeling hurt and rejected. She couldn’t understand why he would prefer to look at women on the internet over being intimate with her. She was angry, she wanted to teach him a lesson. I think she was also trying to save her marriage. Here’s what she did:
He had this website where he was a member. It was just ladies wearing sexy things. I wondered if I could do that, be a model. A friend said,
“Of course you can do it, it’s nothing much different from you, they’re just done up and looking nice.”
So I contacted the website and I asked if they wanted a model. They said to send them some photos and they’d take it from there.
I have no modeling experience but I put up a tripod and did pictures of me wearing sexy things. Once I was happy with the pictures I sent them to the website. I thought they’d never accept them but the guy came back to me and said they’d be very interested in having a photo shoot with me.
The shoot was far away on a Saturday, so I made up a story that I was going to go out with a friend and off I went with a suitcase full of clothes. I was worried, but it looked like a good site and it had two partners. I didn’t know what to expect but I said,
“I’m going to do it.”
I looked great – anyone can look great in those pictures and actually, from there I kept on doing more and more and more and then I had a fan club. I did do one set topless. They asked if I would and since I’d had breast implants, I thought,
“Why not? They look great.”
And I was worried, of course, but the photographer was so nice and so professional.
The site owner would put the photo sets up for sale on the site and we would share the takings, but it’s all involved with a forum and actually, many people became fans. Then I started producing my own stuff and even today I still do photo sets! I even ended up going to Florida and met another photographer. He’s great, does great work, and he puts my work on his site. I get a share of those sales too.
I had a stage name and I made lots of friends. It’s fun. I have one client who pays for a private shoot, and I do it specifically wearing the clothes he wants. It’s always the same clothes, jeans, white shirt and scarves, but the scarf is the main thing that’s exciting. It has to be Herme’s scarf. Very expensive. I produced a little movie with me wearing a scarf and changing the scarf, about six minutes, and he pays me 80 pounds. That’s great, it’s better than working for the supermarket.
I enjoy making some money, and I enjoy the attention. I’ve made fifty movies and I’ve lost count of the photos. There was one guy in particular and it was kind of an emotional affair. He made me feel great because I felt so wanted, so appreciated.
My husband knew what I was doing because one day I showed him the site I was working with. I said,
“Look at this update,”
and it showed me. He said,
“What are you doing there?”
with his mouth open, and it was just me with this crazy idea, but I enjoyed it. In the beginning, my husband was helping me do some photo sites but then he didn’t like the attention I was getting. The attention that he never gave me.
The Divorce Coach Says
This was a twist I wasn’t expecting. I didn’t like the idea of “teaching him a lesson” but anger and hurt are powerful emotions and don’t bring out the best in any of us. I appreciated Nancy’s honesty in sharing her motive.
Then, when Nancy explained that she was essentially doing the same as the women her husband found sexually pleasing, I thought this was harmless. I also think that Nancy was trying to win her husband’s attention by showing him she wasn’t being judgmental. But her lesson didn’t work – I don’t think their marriage broke down because of her husband’s fetish. I think it broke down because Nancy couldn’t tolerate the lack of attention any longer and her husband’s fetish brought that into focus. It was a marriage that had been troubled for a long time.
